Default New brand of batting at Joann's

I went to Joann's last week to get W&N batting which is now $13.99 a yard. They had some that looks exactly like W&N, called Nature's Touch for $10.99 a yard. It looks and feels exactly like W&N....is 100% cotton, but I suspect is probably a little lighter weight. Have any of you seen or tried this batting? I had a coupon and bought 8 yards and am anxious to try it.

I haven't tried it but looked at the batting made from bamboo. I usually only buy batting when I have a 50% coupon. I did notice there are different weights of the W&N and I think by mistake a got a lighter weight one. I don't quilt much but when I run out of fusible fleece I spray baste and use the W&N in the purses. Let us know how it works for you.

Warm and Natural only comes in one weight.

However, the Warm Company, makers of W&N, makes many different battings each with a different construction and material. The various brands, like Warm and Safe, Warm and White, etc are different in weight. Each of their battings, however, only comes in one weight.

You'll have to judge for yourself, but here is some info on the subject.

There was an earlier thread asking for info on Nature's Touch without much resolution.

There is still no mention of this batting on any company website, which I find strange after 6 months, but who knows. It does have a scrim, however, so it is no more "100% cotton" than Warm & Natural or Warm & White, which is the Warm company's version of "clean cotton".

You will have to keep us updated after you use and wash it.It just might be something new that you like. If it is lighter, it might be extra good for tablerunners, tablecloths, treeskirts etc.

I saw the batting you're talking about several months ago at JoAnn's when I was looking for W&N. I asked about the new Pellon batting but no one seemed to know anything about it..... not surprising at our JoAnn's. I was really hesitant about buying any of it though because it was SO much cheaper than any other brand I've ever purchased. It will be interesting to see what everyone has to say.
