New Gadget???
In preparing a new quilt, there was a mention of a cool gadget called The Angler 2 by Pam Bono. Never having heard of this I checked the computer and found a U-tube telling me how to use it. Seemed great but when I tried to purchase it, supposedly it is no longer available. Anybody have any information on this item? According to the u-tube it worked miracles.

Pam Bono passed away a couple years ago and her stuff is no longer being made available. You might be able to find one on eBay or from someone who has one to part with. Their are many angle templates/ rulers on the market though.

Eleanor Burns makes a really great similar item called, "Sew Straight," from Quilt in a Day. I like it better. There's no "key" to loose. It comes with re-usable sticky stuff and it's stiff, so sticks out past the edge of your sewing machine in the front, so you can do bigger HSTs.

It was so sad to see that the family immediately shut down the Pam Bono company upon her and her husbands’ demise. The Angler sold out immediately and then.....no more. I wonder if they ever regretted the decision to shut down. The Laurel Burch brand is still going strong years after her passing. Just goes to show that a succession plan is so important for any business.

I was quite shaken by Pam's passing. For those of you who don't know the sordid details, I hope you can still look up what really happened.
I suppose the kids were so disturbed by all this that they did not want to remember anything or be reminded by keeping the retail open. Pam was a one man show, all the designs were hers and she was quite prolific.
The very same thing happened not too far from here. She was a quilter too.

If you do a google search you can find a couple items; one was a wonderful tribute on Facebook about the parents written by their son Dallas; and if you scroll down there is a short bit in the Pagosa sun paper. Just a short bit. What a sad ending to a very talented couple.

Pam Bono only had one son. He posted the reason why he had to shut down his mother's business. All her work and info was on computer and he did not have any of the passwords or access to any of her files. He had no clue about any of it and could not access her website. The only thing he could do was let her website domain go until it died of non payment. Every pattern on the website was free until that happened . He had his career and did not want to or have the time to carry on his mother's business that he knew nothing about. He wanted it closed and over with and understandably so.
