China is bad, bad, bad. I just listened to a podcast where a journalist was explaining how most of our "designer" drugs, such as fentanyl and faux fentanyl-types, are coming from China, not south of the border. The journalist actually went to China and toured a "facilty". There are guys living there who do nothing but mix chemicals all day long to import here, just to make a buck.

I live in SW Michigan and work in a quilt shop. The prices have consistently been going up little by little. The digital fabrics are very high priced. The new fabrics coming in are priced between $12 and $12.75 mostly with some $13.25. Digital are over $14.

I am so gladI have my stash, I couldn't afford fabric at those prices. I buy a lot online, but that may change if it gets too hig. People who have been in my basement say it looks like JoAnns and I wouldn't change a thing.

My area (Pacific Northwest) used to be the hotbed of quilting but there are fewer quilt shops (retirement and competition from online stores). There are no quilt shops locally (within 10 miles). I do not need fabric and have a huge stash. I only buy fabric if I absolutely do not have the right fabric for my project. I had to purchase fabric for a border of Good Fortune (2018-2019 Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt). Fabric has gone up here also and our sales tax in 3 of our counties is 10.5% or more.
