Default New Juki TL2010 owner needs help

I got my Juki, what a machine! A couple of things I am not sure about and don't see in the manual. The top tension knob.....is it suppose to be tight or loose! I don't see where there is any tension on the thread at all. Second......I am sewing along, the fabric stops feeding. Has happened a few times. Thread isn't breaking.....just stops feeding the fabric. What am I missing or doing wrong? Anyone know of any videos I can watch regarding tension? All I have found so far is videos of people opening the machines.
thanks in advance for your help!

I have never had to touch the sub tension knob. There is a diagram on page 17 of the manual. I have my tension set about 3.5. Pressure foot regulator, this is in the manual. For FMQ, I have it all the way up at the top. The rest of the time it's on/near the middle dot. Make sure you have your thread between the tension discs and that there are no little bits of thread stuck there. Be sure your feed dog lever is all the way over. Move it back and forth a few times.
