I know that Pfaff has a new machine coming out 13-15 lb range that has IDT. Wondering if anyone has seen it yet? If so what did you think?

I have an old 7550 which bit the dust (bottom board is dead) and rebuild is about $400+. Can't get new anymore so instead of sinking $ into one where something else may go wrong was thinking about getting a new one for taking to classes.

I have seen information on this machine in my "Quilters Loft" newsletter, but they were very impressed by it at a recent trade show. Looks very interesting but I have no idea what price range it will be in.

Have read a little on the Pfaff site, but it doesn't tell what feet or if a table comes with it. I have two machines with the IDT and they're wonderful: a Pfaff 122E and Babylock Quest. There is a discussion on Sewing Pattern Review. Would love to see it, but nearest Pfaff dealer is 3 hours away.

Just saw on pattern review site that the intro price is $699.

I saw it in Cincinnati last Friday--it is a decent size, even for the light weight. The table with it was probably (if I remember right) extended a foot or more from the machine on the left and was maybe 10 or so inches long. They seemed to be selling several of them. I love the IDT on my Pfaff machines!

At my sewing club on Monday they had one of the Passports. It is lightweight and has a lot of features. If you put your name on the list for one they were giving you the table that goes with it. It seems a little pricey at $699 but it was cute.

Thanks for all of the updates - I have a call into the dealership so I can see it when it comes in. I am figuring that the $400 I was going to have to pay to get the old machine fixed takes the price down quite a bit. Not sure that is good reasoning but I'm sticking with it. I love my other machine but it is OLD and once they start breaking, just seem to keep on. Since they don't really make parts for it anymore and most everything has to be rebuilt I think I would hit that $699 figure pretty quickly. Will update after I get to see it and try it.

Oh my goodness! A lightweight Pfaff? I'm going to have to look into this. My CV is so heavy and I'd love to have a machine that I could easily carry.

Sounds like a tiny power house.

After I looked at the info on YouTube, I called my local dealer and she filled me in a little more on this machine. It's due to be in her shop next week. She said it can use the feet from my regular Pfaff, but it does use a different bobbin. It also doesn't have the automatic scissors. It has the needle down feature and tie off stitches. The promotion deal comes with a small attachable table to increase the sewing area to the left of needle. It has basic stitches as well as a few applique stitches, so everything I would need to do piecing.

I told DH about it and bless his unaware little heart, he said "Well for only 700, shouldn't you get two?" I just got a long arm in January and I suppose he was thinking it would cost that much!

I'll be testing this machine next week for sure. It would be nice to have a light weight machine that is similar to what I'm already familiar with.
