My friend has had terrible problems with her Singer. Check out Brother.

Old singers get a big thumbs up, have 3. New singers get a huge thumbs down, have 1 and thats 1 too many.

I have the Singer Confidence Quilter. I hate the thing. I agree with kraftykimberly - I have one older singer that I love, and the new one is one too many.

I'd have to look up the model but I bought one for around $170 at WallyWorld a couple years ago, and it flew apart inside in less than 3 months.

I'm sticking to old machines, now.

Buy an older Viking, Janome or Pfaff.

I just read that Singer is getting ready to introduce a new sewing machine---it will to commemorate their 160th anniversary. It will be revealed next week in Nashville at the ISMACS convention. But not available until after the first of the year. They say it is supposed to rival their centennial machines. Sure hope so. Would love for Singer to get back the way they used to be.

I got a Singer Futura CE-350 for Christmas 2009. It's been a good machine, haven't had any trouble with it. However, I mainly only use it for embroidery.

I had a singer confidence also. sent out for repairs 4 times and fixed in store 2 times finally they gave me full trade up value and I bought a husqvara. (probably not spelled right but to lazy to look) it is only about 6 mths old but so far so good. singer was nothing but trouble for me and also when I was trading up another lady brought one in with the same issues. I was very disappointed wih the machine quality and would not purchase another. I have older singers that are great. this is just my experience.
