I cut small pieces into the shape of hearts or other objects and give to friends. Tell them to place this on their shirt or chest to put strings on. It holds the strings you cut from sewing very well and then they can pull the strings off and throw them away or you can make them several and they can throw the whole thing away when they are finished sewing. Also works well for crocheters with little pieces of yarn that is cut or trimmed. Keeps all those little strings in one place. Doesn't need a pin to put in on, it just sticks to your shirt.

Never, never toss out batting. All the suggestions on this topic are good. Even the smallest pieces are great combined with your selvege and bits of scraps for stuffing doll pillows, toys, etc. You'd be surprised how many ideas you can come up with. I am a true scraper. Eileen
