Hello,
Another newbie question. I noticed some say they scan their fabric and others say take pictures. Which is better?
I want to start a fabric library and wanted to know if I should invest in a scanner or a really good digital camera.
Thanks :D

I take a digital picture of my pics and have various folders for the different type of fabrics.
Even if I sell or use up my fabric, I still keep the picture, but put it in the GONE folder. Many times I refer back to pictures of fabric that I once had.

People are always selling and giving away printer/copier/scanners on freecycle in my town...you might check to see if you can get one that way. It would be a cheap way to get started. If you just used it for the scanning purposes, it would work out for free.

If it is one or the other, I choose camera. You can take pictures of your fabric, and it is helpful to take pictures of your layouts, too.
You can usually find misplaced blocks easier in a picture, or blocks that have pieces turned the wrong way too LOL It has saved my bacon more than once :D:D:D
