That accomplishment is something to be proud of and worthy of a special quilt.

Congratulations to your son. That is quite an accomplishment. Please post a picture of your quilt when you are finished.

Congrats! We have a friend who is BS leader. Her husband asked me about a quilt for her.

Congratulations. I made a quilt for my son when he became an Eagle--way before the fabric was available. I depicted a camping scene which I surrounded with blocks that had some meaning regarding his Scout activities--like Crossed Canoes, Milky Way, etc. I borrowed a quilt stand from the guild and had the quilt displayed behind him during the ceremony. Made a nice backdrop for the photos.

It sounds absolutely wonderful, all of your stories in fact ... the Americans (generalisation, I know!) seem to have so much more pride in their Boy and Girl Scouts than we do in England ... fabric lines and so on as well as the merchandise catalogie that I once upon a time got my hands on and was able to have one order from ...
(My brother was an intern in Washington DC for a year, I was able to place the order before my visit to him! and then bring the goodies back to England)

If any of you wonderful Scouting families ever have any scraps of these special Scouting fabrics then I would be interested ... even if they were only 4" blocks ... Just PM me and I'll pay for shipping using Paypal.

My husband and I met through Scouting and were leaders together for many years before our second boy was born, and the move to Sweden, and our first boy has just joined the Swedish Scouts, at 6 years old, and has had his first campover ... I see Scouty quilts in my future as well! (In fact I'd rather like one for myself ....)

I did one for my Eagle Scout. I put all of his merit badges , etc in the quilt. I used the quilt as his Eagle display at the ceremony. he loved it.
