I guess I should say I joined that club too when I first started and changed the blade. couldn't figure out what was wrong. DH pointed it out. Havedone all kinds of things I could kick myself for afterwards, but I am not the only one, because there is always someone on this board who says they have done it too. Happy day!! Amy

I use a seam ripper to separate new rotary cutter blades. Its safer than rubbing them.

I have done that very thing. I was just about to quit rotary cutting when i figured it out!

Were they Harbor Freight blades? I've noticed those really have a ton of oil on them. In fact, using a new one yesterday and finding it so dull I tried the rolling it over foil trick -- I'm going to look and see if I have two in there!

That's what mine did. I blamed the fabric and had cut most of it when I discovered what I'd done.
