My first thought was to maybe switch up the triangles with ones more colorful( to go on the light blocks). But honestly, I think it's pretty and once you get it done I bet you'll like it.
I know how you feel though. It's happened to me more than once.

I pulled your picture into Paint and played some. First, there is NO one that would accuse me of being an artist. My efforts are pitiful but I hope will show you that your quilt has an opportunity here for lots of fun quilting.

Edited to add: I am better with real material & thread than I am with a touchpad on a laptop. lol

To try and understand why you're disappointed, I googled and found the original pattern, along with other photos of that completed top. I think your disappointment lies in the fact that you used fabrics that are very similar to the secondary fabric in some of your blocks, and it washes out the design. Can you swap out these fabrics and use something with a little more contrast?

Remove the blocks I marked with an X, rearrange the remaining blocks to fill in the holes, then step back and see what you think of it then. Take a picture and look at it on your phone or camera.

I agree with Tartan. A dark gray or even black would contrast with the beige and make a stunning quilt. Aren't you glad we have the QB for opinions, ideas and advice!

I think Peckish hit the nail on the head. In looking at the actual pattern they have a major contrast between the two fabrics in each block. And they used some colors to make the diagonal pattern too. It's a nice pattern - just needs a few fabric changes.

Karen, does the design look better with all the triangles going the same way? Asking because it can really look good to have some blocks that are strong and others fading into the background -when the design for each block is the same.

The hashtag quilt from Me and My Sister Designs comes to mind. They're all different fabrics on a pale pink background and the lightest ones look as if they're in a mist.

With the triangles twisting and turning, though, the low volume blocks lose the rhythm of the design and aren't very helpful.

It may just be a matter of adding a few more dark blocks and then turning them all the same way.

I think the blocks are pretty but I get it. If you don't like something no one is going to talk you out of it. Do you subscribe to The Quilt show? If so, someone will know her name, I'm tired and not thinking clear - Virginia Finley Wolff. I think. Look up the episode she was in. When she has blocks or a quilt she doesn't like, she just cuts it up and makes something new with it. The results are amazing.

I know how you feel. Many years ago when I first started quilting I was going to make my daughter a high school graduation quilt. I asked her what colors she wanted and she said, " black, peach and gray". At that time I didn't know how to pick fabrics and ended up with a solid black, a peachy color in small print and a gray with a small print. I hated working on this quilt because the gray and peach just blended together. I finished the quilt and gave it to her for her 40th birthday. She loves it and I learned something about fabrics. I was trying to post a picture but I keep getting upload failed.
