I'm not too bad in my sewing room - but you should see what I've got in the Kitchen LOL!!

Though I had to really cut down on my cooking hobby once I hit 200lbs. At least with sewing, you don't end up eating your leftovers.

I like trying new gadgets out but I don't need to keep them if they don't rock my world so I don't hang onto them like I hang onto fabric. I've accumulated a few "students" - four ladies from work who are new sewers, and they've been wonderful for passing on gadgets I don't like or don't use. They come over and we have a sewing day, and I pass out things I don't want anymore and tell them, "Try this, if you like it, it's yours." I've gotten rid of all sorts of doo-dads that way!

Of course, for Christmas, I had to put together "goodie" bags for each of them with duplicates of some of my favorite tools that I'll never part with! That was fun.

I can easily resist notions that you might only use once. When batiks are on sale, that is when I loose control.

I will admit since joining at the end of last year, I have acquired a number of items that I didn't know existed before e.g. Stripology ruler. As long as I have a use for something, I don't see the problem.

Does thread count? I am a sucker for thread and sparkly embellishments (think sequins) and various kinds of cording and yarns that I can couch down to the surface of my quilted wall hangins, and... well, you get the idea LOL.

I buy most of my threads and embellishments in used lots off eBay--I get lots of stuff in those used lots that I would never think of going to a craft or sewing store to look for. Having them around and trying to incorporate them into my work stretches my creativity and skill level, so that's a good thing, right? That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

I am just getting into quilting after 35 years of working and raising my children.
I have some fabric. But it is not a big stash. My stash is just mostly left over of the quilts I have made.
I am just starting to buy "gadgets/notion and rulers ", I buying any ruler, gadget, or notions I think will help me quilt. I have 4 rulers so far.
If you have a gadget, notion, or ruler you don't need or want let me know. I will buy it from you.
I need to improve my quilting skills and gadgets/notions or rulers help.

Yes, I do collect sewing gadgets, etc. Also kitchen ones. Though I've slowed down on accumulating. Being more selective, and don't want to have a space issue~~

Glad to know I'm not the only one! I just took a trip (25m- one way) to JAF today for interfacing for bee in the bonnet bloom blocks....and, yes, I bought a few notions...40% off- couldn't pass it up.....glue refills for hexie glue
pen, tailors machanical pencil with three different color leads( really needed that?), also needed a 1/4" bias tape maker for project mentioned above, but there was a set of three sizes.....so now I have three..and of course books were on sale...I think I have more than they do, but I found one that looks like fun. Seasonal small 14x24 wallhanging....for my front door..I really need to stop this.......

I really admire those quilters who make stunning, elaborate quilts using only a 6X24 ruler.
Don't get me started on books! Someone posts a quilt here, I go to Amazon & see that there's a used copy of the book for a penny. Whoo Hoo! (I just ignore that shipping charge...)
That's me. I see a book or idea on to Smile.Amazon I go. (Smile.Amazon is their charity organization.) I have so many books and patterns and repeats of some.

Paper Princess, I could be your sister, my dad also was a woodworker and he had a "jig" that he made for every possible need. Of course I need every gadget ever made, I love the idea of passing duplicates to new fellow quilters. I think I will give that a go. Currently have been teaching two coworkers, that will be fun!!!
