I sewed A strip of Bias tape on the back of a quilt block. Left some of it there and cut off the rest.

I made my son and his wife an anniversity quilt for their 10th. Daughter in law told me she felt something sticking her from the quilt!! Since I pin base I must have left a pin between the layers. Thank goodness it was a safty pin and as long as she can keep it closed it will be fine. Since they live in Florida and I'm in Maryland I can't (wish I could) just go down and fix it for her. But from now on I watch carefully where I place all my pins while basting! Especially when most of my quilts are gifts! LOL

Thanks for sharing, it made me laugh, with you, of course, not at you. Keep on FM quilting! It is fun, isn't it? Well, most of the time.

But sure had a time picking out the stitches and getting the darn thing off the back of my quilt.

I'm at a loss to understand a lot of the shorthand "initials" used on the board (FMQ, LQS, etc).
Has anyone compiled a translation list of some kind that can be reproduced here? Subject matter helps decypher some, but other times I'm just stumped.
    Thanks
    Janet

I feel your pain! I have stitched my little cutting mat (2"x6") to my blocks several times while paper piecing. Not to mention scraps, blocks, etc. Frustrating and kind of interesting the things that can be picked up with fabric, but that's the hazard of a slick surface with "stuff" around!

I did that too! I had quite a bit extra instead of the normal couple inches and it got folded underneath. Drat!

I sewed through the HEAD of a flower head quilters pin acouple of weeks ago. I had a heck of a time getting it out! Needless to say, it dulled my needle and had to replace an almost new needle!

A few weeks ago, I sewed two dollar bills to the back of a costume I was making my grandson. Good thing I saw them- the one whose dollars they were would have been awful mad when they disappeared!
