I knew when I read the original post that this would bring all us fabric collectors out. You all make me feel so much better as most of you have WAY more than I do, and my collection is impressive.

I fill my online cart with over 25 different fabrics, then whittle down to what I can't live without! I buy what appeals to me, mostly blues and teals, and they blend well together. I do wash the fabric before winding onto comic boards, which are working out wonderfully.

As much as I enjoy browsing in quilt shops, I find for myself I have to just not frequent them as much as I can't resist the temptations to buy. Once in a while I do stop in to see what is new out there and usually come out with "something".
Just me.

I also have stash that is OUT of control. I will need 2 live times to get through it all. I have been doing real well at the fabric store, I have only been going in when I absolutely need something-filler or backing. BUT I went to a church sale and almost everything was .25!!!! How does a person leave that??? Someone said a quilter had passed and this was all her stuff. I only got 2 pieces of fabric-both 2 yard pieces- for .25 each. I got scissors, needles for my midarm machine, pantographs, 60mm rotary blades, seam rippers I had 2 bagfuls all for $8. I actually restrained myself very well I thought, because this woman must have been into everything, it stretched all the way across the long side of the fellowship hall. These kind of sales are my downfall.

Baby brother has turned out to be baby Sister. Ultrasound did Not tell the truth--never promised to be correct. Second one showed Positively a baby girl is on her way.

Now I have to rethink my quilts for the 2 of them--such is planning.

My cart usually goes back to $0 because I remember I have some of that fabric because I went to the Super store and found it there--couldn't stand to hear it crying because I said "No" so I gave in and bought 3 yards.....Now I stay out of the fabric area--mostly.

Yup--but couldn't go to get any leftovers today--rain and my powerchair do not get along so I was apartment bound all day. Can't go tomorrow for the same reason. I thinck Angel Michael told on me and God sent the rain to make me take a fabric break.


Wrong board to get rid of it ideas. We All collect it on this board.

I recently retired from being a homeschool mom (still a mom, but my baby graduated!) so I did some rearranging. In the end, I bought a gorgeous new giant cabinet for my sewing room (it was my dh's idea---truly!). Now that I can see my stash thru the glass doors, I'm hoping it inspires me to whittle it down in the free time that has appeared in my life.
