Love that you threw that blue in, nice start! I almost always buy sales items, over the years my stash has grown so big, that I can effortlessly pull a queen sized quilt from off my shelves. It depends a lot on what kind of quilt you will make but I always keep black and white on hand. Please show us your progress. Have fun on your quilting journey.

Welcome! The only thing I have to keep shopping for is solid colors of any color. It seems that I have more than enough of everything else.

What a great selection of fabrics, which you probably pulled from the focus fabric - you are on your way. Going with a focus fabric and pulling colors from that makes color decisions easier. If I were starting a stash, knowing what I know now (I don't want much do I?) I would always have 2-3 yards each of white, off-white and possibly black. The white and off white are two great background fabrics and I like to use tone-on-tone fabrics instead of solids (my personal preference) as I think it gives a little more depth to the quilt. Most quilters, myself included, tend to go more for the medium fabrics, and as a quilt instructor on Simply Quilts advised - make sure you have plenty of light fabrics and especially really dark fabrics. Welcome to quilting - I'm sure you are started on a wonderful journey.
