    Default An "Oh Wow" quilt

I am looking for a quilt pattern that will challenge my quilting skills. I would really like to do a needle turn applique one and would hand quilt it. When I look at it, I will want to say, "Oh Wow, I made that!" Does anyone have suggestions--unique or traditional ideas are welcome? I'm just not into modern or art quilts. Thank you.

Baltimore pattern is beautiful. It has a lot of challenge.

I have seen a lot of simple quilt patterns that the fabric colors just made me say Oh Wow!! Good luck on your choice!

I would check out the Baltimore Album quilts. Some of them are beyond Oh, WOW! There are many different patterns to choose from. Have fun!

Check out Becky Goldsmith's " piece o cake " designs...they are not overwhelming in detail,as I think Baltimore Album quilts can be.

You might google 'applique quilts', and see if any of the photos appeal to you. I've found many patterns I want to make while browsing google images.

I like this woman's work. She gives the BOM free and then later sells the pattern. Here is one example http://estheraliu.blogspot.com/p/red-delicious_19.html

There was a quilter not long ago that was posting pics of her progress on The Little Brown Bird quilt, it was stunning and applique.

look at the di ford. "primarily quilts " book. I am making the wedding sampler quilt. The book has many detailed patterns.

How about trying a sampler that has different blocks using different techniques? They can be larger blocks.
