:D I hear yeah. I too am humbled by the vast quantities of fabric I have amassed over the years. I do charity quilts; make dolls for Children's Hospital; make lots of quilts for others that I give away; and some how it never makes a dent in the pile.
My hubby say he wishes he had a $ for every time I say I am not buying fabric for a while; then he would be rich. I keep trying to resist, but the 'For Sale' just gets me. Lately I have found I can resist a little and when I do, DH says Thank you.

I'm afraid I'm like you when it comes to getting distracted from other things due to thinking about quilting. Lately, it seems, I think about it more than I actually quilt! That's because it's tax season and there is spring cleaning and all that other obnoxious stuff we have to do. Wish I could work on quilts full time.

Guess I'm the lucky one. I never buy on impulse or because I like a fabric. I only buy for what I need for a particular project. When my Mom moved from her home 3 years ago, she had about 15 of the very large plastic totes full of fabric. Some of it was so old, it was poly....She never bought less than 4 yards and bought with nothing particular in mind. What a job it was to dispose of and carry off to places that wanted it. Unfortunately, there was not a lot I could use for quilts.

How does that old BumperSticker go? "The One Who Has the Most Fabrics When She Dies..... WINS !" Seriously though, I look at all of my plastic boxes, and want to find time to quilt, but I'm crocheting and knitting for the local Hospital NICU, and also Nursing Homes, (afghans & bed socks.. I also do counted cross stitch, but need more time.. Does anyone know where I can find more han 24 hours in a day? I know, I'm retired, (81) but I still don't have enough time... Diana O.

I just posted the same thing a few days ago! Oh my what fun! I just today ordered perle cotton. I'm handquilting a dresser scarf with it and absolutely LOVE the look so of course I need more colors than the two I have. I'm already planning the next quilt to do by hand with it!
