I bought a Bernina 930 new in 1986 and I still have it. I paid $1,000 for it. It is a true work horse. There must be a reason that they still cost the same as when they were new. My dealer told me several years ago that it was the best machine that Bernina has made. If you have one, hang on to it, if you can get a good deal on one, buy it, as it is only going to go up in value.

Low supply plus high demand.

Love the Bernina machnes; I have a 1530 and added a 550 last year plus their embroidery machine and serger. They hold their value and are true work horses! Nothing else that I have tried holds up to what they do in the quilt room.
