I can see a nice background with this fabric. Either water to beach or sand to skt..very pretty.

It would also make a gorgeous backing. Not very imaginative, I know, but it would be beautiful.

I used one that was shaded a bit differently as the background for a celtic knotwork wallhanging. I cut it so that the primary color remained relatively consistent throughout, but shaded toward the other colors near the edges. I really liked the effect it created.

I saw a wonderful use of ombre' in a quilt in a shop......flying geese in strips running vertcially up and down the top, ombre' in geese running one way and the opposite ombre' in the background running the other way. Very colorful and attention getting. Should have taken a picture of it!

I consider them as stash builders. Sometimes they come in real handy if one is looking for a very specific color for a quilt or wall hanging.

I once saw a "Sewing with Nancy" show, in which she used ombre fabrics in quilt making. I found the DVD online:

Beautiful fabric. I wonder if a kaleidoscope style would work? I could be way off base and if so..sorry.

What a great start for a watercolor quilt, color values are already there to guide you.
