My last job was sewing in a small shop. We had old industrial machines, and 2 old home machines of mine. We used canned air constantly with no problem.
Our repairman, and owner of a sewing machine company, also used it.
Since we were sewing constantly, we'd blow the machines out often, as needed. I would also regularly lift the machine bodies, and blow them off from below. So, I am not afraid of canned air. But, I also did regular maintenance and cleaning of each machine.
None but none of these machines are electronic.
