Thank you so much for posting this. I just had a machine repair person tell me to use canned air on one of my machines. And . . . I was thinking about doing just that. You probably have saved me a costly repair bill down the road.

I use it on machines I have that I can see all the moving parts but my viking has to go to the dealer to get taken apart so I agree a totla no no BTW the blog picture looks like a viking machine... totally enclosed and only allowed to be taken apart by certified viking dealers...

i was a dressmaker and had a boutique clothing business for many years and used canned air successfully. i had my machines serviced regularly and this has never happened to any machine i ever used. perhaps this is what happens to the electronic machines of today but my babylocks have never experienced this. interesting. that machine looks like a closed case machine.

It makes sense to use it on the keyboard though. You tilt the keyboard sideways and it blows junk OUT of the keyboard. But with a sewing machine, there is no way for it to get out, so it just blows the lint further in.
