Can you believe we just got a flood warning for Wayland Mo which is about 15 mi. from us. Thank God we are on high ground. It seems like just a few days ago that we had 20in. of snow. My how time flies. :?

That is always my fear when the snowfall is so heavy and it starts melting quickly :(

From the sound of things, the Army Corps of Engineers is very concerned about major flooding on the Upper Mississippi Valley this spring, all the way down to Memphis. There are no locks and dams past St. Louis.

There is a creek right next to my house. Back in 01 this area had 15 inches of rain over night and the house did not get flooded then however the creek did flood and took out half of the lower part of town! I have flood insurance and I watch the water close! My husband lived in St. Louis and his house was flooded in 1993. He was only about 12 then. I fear a fire more than a flood!

Good luck to those who live along the water!
