My goodness what a beautiful piece of work. I'll be interested to see what you can do with the suggestions you received. I would keep all of the pieces and rearrange some to alleviate the Y. Just gorgeous!

I like the layout, there’s quite a bit of interest, and the y arrangement doesn’t bother me- I rather like the edgness of it in contrast wth the hexies. However, if you don’t like the symetricality of having the cubes in the y arrangement you could offset the two diagonals, or do some shorter “runs” of the cubes in several different parts of the quilt. Whatever you decide to do, I think the combination of cubes and hexies is going to make a very interesting quilt.

You do beautiful work! I would not put in the hexies, it totally distracts from the OBW's. They do not fit with the lovely floral pieces. The graphics do not blend, so your total focus is on the light colored cube blocks. It was beautiful without the cube blocks. Even a border would take away from the gorgeous blending of your floral theme. Sorry, just doesn't fit. I would make two quilts.

I like your idea, but with a slight change. The blocks create an interesting stair effect. I would play with that idea. When I look at your quilt, I see lush greenery. It reminds me of an abandoned structure that has been overgrown.
