If both look good, all I can say is you can never have too much purple! then, refer to all the earlier opinions too as I agree with them. 8^P

I usually use the same fabric as my outer border. Why not audition the purple and the rose and see what enhances the quilt?

This is what i would do also.

Ditto. But once in a while you run into one that is troublesome to decide. I'm trying to decide the binding on my latest Reflection quilt. Crazy border fabric with multi color stripe all running one way. I think I'll preview this on my design wall for a few days.

I usually like to make my binding the same as the outer border. You don't notice mistakes as easily.

My usual plan is to have the binding fairly dark to serve as a frame for the entire quilt. Of course a number of other factors go into what actually happens! Most often the deciding factor is how much fabric I have of whatever color that I might want to use. If there is enough of several, then I just lay the finished top on each of the possibilities and pick the one that I decide I like best. I tend to consider my binding the final (often - only) border.

Default Quilt is Finished!!

Thanks to all of you for your opinions. Here's the finished quilt and label. I'm pretty happy with the result and hope that she'll love it. It's for my son's girlfriend.
