Your opinion on border color, please

It's almost time to sew the border! Which color would you choose?

How about both? I can see a thin(1-1.5 inch)frame of purple and a broader yellow sash.

I like the purple for its zing. The yellow gives a softer, dreamy effect. Which do you want? Lovely block, by the way.

Ooh so pretty. I like QuiltnNan's suggestion. I think the layout and color scheme of the three borders balances and shows of the blocks.

I like that. So would you make the binding in the same purple?

I like the solutions you suggested too. Isn't it wonderful to have a design challenge solved so easily? That's what friends are for!

I think the purple on purple pops more, but the purple on yellow mellows this out.

It will be lovely either way. Just gives a totally different look depending on which you choose.

    The ones suggested are beautiful

Another possibility, which would be more work, but also very nice would be to do a very narrow purple frame on each block then do the regular width yellow sashing.

Oh I see that was already suggested too.

Whichever you choose will be lovely!

I like the purple next to the blocks. The yellow looks blaah. It would be ok as a border outside the purple, but I like Quiltnnan's idea for layout.

I like it that way too. Small yellow border then larger purple.

Wow! that's fascinating! A good example of the difference binding colors can make. I kind of like it w. yellow....more pop, but purple would be nice and calm. Did you do this with EQ? I have EQ5 a friend gave me but have never learned to use it.

I like both. The purple is more vibrant, the yellow more relaxing.. so it depends on what you are looking for.

Purple would give an entirely different look. It's more what you like best as both are great.

I'm curious to see an EQ design using both the purple block and the yellow block in one quilt top, as described by a previous quilter.
