Default Opinions please: Janome MC9500 vs Janome DC2011

I know they are totally different machine with totally different options. With that said, as I stated in another post, I found a MC9500 on Craigslist for $750. I am not sure what feet come with it but she does have the hoops and manuals; not sure if it works yet as I haven't seen it. Today I went to the local dealer to see what used machine they had. They had a DC2011 with a walking foot and other accessories for $225; it is serviced and working and has a 30 day warranty plus a free class.

With all that said, which would you chose? I am not really looking for a nice embrodiery machine as I like to sew more but liked the option but the cheaper machine is a good machine and does what I want sewing/quilting wise, plus more.

Thoughts?

I would not pay extra for embroidery features unless you are pretty sure you want to try embroidering. I am much more interested in quilting than embroidery, so I would opt for the dealership machine. Figure if I ever really want to get into machine embroidery, *then* I'll buy a machine that is specifically for that purpose.

That is my thinking. I have a friend who has a BIG embroidery machine so if I really wanted something done, I can send it to her.

Do you know anything about the DC2011? All the reviews I have found have been good.

I don't know about that specific model, but Janome has a pretty good reputation among quilters. Did find these reviews of it on Amazon:

Thanks. I haven't found a bad review yet. I hope to back to get it tomorrow. They close today before hubby gets home and I prefer not to take DD again.

If the dealer machine has some kind of limited time warranty there....that would be a consideration as the CL won't have that.

The dealer has a 30 day limited warranty. I think I have decided to get the DC2011; all reviews have been great and I don't need embroidery...I can use that extra money on fabric.
