    Star of Bethlehem is the same pattern as a Lone Star. Two different names for the same design.

    Yours is quite pretty no matter what you call it.

    If you did a triangle - that was 30-60-90 degrees you should be able to sew them to each side of your diamonds before you sew your diamonds together - and avoid y seams.
    Or if you wanted one solid triangle the large angle should be 120 and the two small angles 30 degrees

    ok that sounds like it should work ill see what i can do hopfully i can get it done tonight. thanks everyone for your advice and compliments.

    This also looks like the Blazing Star block. You could come up with an extended name unique to your own design. Love the color combo.

    I would think you can call it a Lone Star. A Lone Star is a single star, and that is what you have. You can name it Six Point Lone Star. That would work. I think it is beautiful.
