#1 deffinately, the eye moves nicely through the composition and the staggered set lends intrest.

If it were me, I would try laying the four squares as you have them in layout option #2, but use the dark purple as the outside borders. I think the turquoise squares facing the center would make a good focal point, but I have better luck trying my squares on a design wall and living with it for a couple days : ) or taking a picture with my camera and looking at all four on the computer, even in black and white.

I actually didn't like any of them. I would see how Option # 4 would look with the blocks turned so that the darker fabrics were in the middle and the light fabric would look on the outside near the dark border.

I like 1 but would pull the squares in from the outer edge so there is a narrow purple around the outside to connect the 4 squares together optically.

I think I like #1 the best, but they are all pretty.

I agree with Kenmore Gal - Option 4, but turn the blocks so the blues are in the center. But you need to do what pleases you. I just happen to like conformity - #1 and number #3 would make me want to "fix" the arrangement all the time, like constantly straightening a picture that gets a little crooked. Love the color combinations, though..
