My bedside one and my big floor lamp have a problem with the extendable neck sliding down. After I get them set at just the right height, they slide right down to the lowest level. My DH finally put duct tape around them to hold them in place. But of course that means I can't adjust them at all anymore. I will not buy another lamp by Ott. There are many lamps on the market that are just as good and quite a bit cheaper. What we are paying for is the fancy lamp. The bulbs can be found at Home Depot. I use those bulbs now in all my lamps and find them to be quite adequate.

Ott lamps / lites are one of the best quilter's investments ... Especially if you
    also do handquilting.
