Painters tape and quilting techniques ???????

Also use it on my rulers as someone already mentioned. And I stretch it along the 1/4" line on my machine. And sometimes tack down the corners of my cutting board since it slides on my tile topped table.

I cut little tiny strips and use it to tape the end of the thread to the spool. Also do the same with bobbins. No tangling ends everywhere. I can't seem to remember to use the bottom snap thingy on those spools that come with them and I file off the "slit" in the spool so it doesn't catch the thread.
I also use it to tape down the topper stabilizer when embroidering.

I use painters tape for tapping down my pink magic slider for free motioning on my home machine. It self sticks pretty good but ever since I messed up and sewed my last one to the bottom of my quilt, I now tape my new one on just to be sure I don't do it again.

I roll painter's tape around my hand a few times to make a circle, gummy side out, then stick this on my sewing machine table as a thread catcher. I move any loose threads over there and touch them to the tape, where they stick easily. When the tape roll can't take any more threads, I just toss it and make another.

I use it to mark smaller measurements on my 12.5" square when I'm squaring up, so I don't have to locate them each time. Works great when I have to fussy cut something and don't have the exact size ruler or square. I agree with everyone else, it has so many uses and comes off cleanly. I love the tip about using it as a thread catcher! Thanks for that one, especially!
