I am looking to prevent wear and/or scratches on the bed of my sewing machines and on their extension tables.

Something like a self-adhesive (but removable and replaceable) vinyl film or the like that will not damage the paint or the plastic due to long term exposure to the adhesive.

The material would Not be used on the needle plates, just the finished portion of the machine's deck.

Any ideas?

I had some phone screen protectors that just fit the "metal" part of the bed of my 15000 and put them on to protect just that area. Has worked fine and stayed "adhered". An Amazon search shows tablet screen protectors in quite a few sizes that could be trimmed to fit. No glue or adhesive involved, they just magically stick.... and peel right up if necessary.
Might be a solution for you.

What about the sticky carpet protector film painters and movers use on stairs? I put it on a table I use for dyeing fabric. It’s thin, holds tight and is easily removed to replace.

Have you thought about something like a Supreme Slider? I have used one for years and love it. It is static and sticks to the flat surfaces yet is removed easily. I have this brand but there are others out there as well ....

don't like putting adhesive anything on my machine....I opted for Carnuba car wax. Got it at Auto Parts store. Just ask for the wax that Car Collectors use. It keeps my machine from getting scratches and is great for FMQ.

You could cut a sheet of vinyl. It will stick but is also removable
and no sticky residue. Plus it's cheap. Wipe your machine clean
before applying the vinyl.
