If they are simple sizes such as squares or triangles, I cut 1/2" seam allowance. Most kits will assume you have had some experience with paper piecing. If the size is a bit wacky, always cut larger since you can always trim. PP is HORRID to rip a seam out because of the smaller stitches. I would find some tutorial to watch because there are certain techniques you may not be aware of with no experience. Good Luck!!

Hi Everyone

This is a continuation of a post I did abut a week ago regarding paper piecing. I must apologize or not responding sooner but, as they say, life got in the way.

Anyway I appreciate all the responses I received. The suggestions to add 1/2" makes sense.

Barb in Louisiana -you asked what the name of the kit was - the name of the pattern is Sunflower & Cornflower from The Designer's Workshop. The fabric was in a kit and the pattern is just a 8 1/2 X 11" piece of paper, which the Quilt Shop purchased from the company. Both have very tiny pieces - I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it with all those tiny pieces - LOL. The quilt shop had made up a sample and I just loved it not giving any thought to the small pieces. I'll wait until a day when I feel I have a lot of patience to give it a try - hope that's fairly soon as tis the season for these flowers.
