Funny, it says void but my mind read it as good. Oh well, my question is - what kind of paper piecing? My first thought was English Paper Piecing, but suppose you wanted the one you use the papers to sew on. Good luck - there are a lot on nice ones out there.

I had never done paper piecing - and then someone on this board started a group to do Carol Doak's 50 stars. Probably not the best beginner project, but I learned a lot doing Carol's method. Though I quickly switched to taking the paper off before sewing sections together, and that is how I do all my paper piecing now.

The nice thing about Carol's book, she gives sizes to cut the pieces, so you don't have to try to figure that out yourself.

As my granddaughter would say "is that a real thing?" Spell check is quite confusing. Thinks it's soo smart.

I love paper piecing and Carol Doak has a really good one in her book - "Teach me to Paper Piece". You might see if her online store has the book because she's closing it and everything is discounted. The pattern she teaches you is a very cute heart miniature quilt. That was one of the first quilts I did. It's fun and you end up with a cute little wall hanging.

I signed up for a paper piecing class with Craftsy and I love it. I have paper pieced before but I always ended up wasting so much fabric because I didn't allow enough fabric to cover the 1/4" seam allowances.

I love love paper piecing. It is a great way to get perfect points every time. Carol Doak is awesome. I did one of her 50 paper pieced stars as my first ever quilt. I had sewn for years. I made 48 of her stars in my first quilt. My avatar is her 50 stars quilt. I did it several years ago with the group on here. I am hooked. I am eyeing a Jacqueline De Jonge quilt right now. She has a new one out on November 2 called Infinity.
