It looks like you have it right - I think if you add those outside sashing pieces - it will bring it all into alignment - and make it centered. From what I could tell - you did it right - so try the sashing and see how it looks then.

It's hard for me to really see the pattern but it looks like your whites are not quite in the right place or turned wrong but once again I am having a hard time seeing the pattern. Just count your squares and look at them carefully But to me something is definitely out of wack.

I agree with Otis. You need to add the rest of the sashing. You have it added on 2 of the 6 sides.

I agree with Otis that you just need a border on 4 sides. I'm not sure that's how it was supposed to go together, but with the border it will have the same result.

Yep, agree with Otis also. When I block out the two sashings that are added it is in alignment.

I agree with the others that once you add the additional sashing and layer it so you don't see the seams it will turn out great. But I personally believe they should have used white hexagons in the center instead of the white strips. Once it is quilted and binding put on, it should look like the photo.

I posted on the other thread about the scorching. Hard to tell for sure from a photo, but it looks to me as if you simply scorched starch rather than burned the fabric. The telltale for me is that the seams are the brownist. This is usually because they stick up enough to collect any burned starch that your iron may be depositing.
