I can't believe no one said 'chocolate' but I won't go there. But we all love projects like that. I would add time to get if all finished lest it become an UFO.

All the above. Plus wine or coffee - depending on mood and time of day.

Oh yes, definately a glass of wine or perfectly brewed coffee......and my favourite classical music or arias playing in my CD player.

So - what contributes to your "perfect" sewing experiences?
The binding was neatly on a roll and ready to go! The label was done (before the quilt). The binding joined perfectly on the first try. The cats didn't meow constantly to be fed. All my Christmas gift projects were done and neatly displayed on a shelf to admire.

My color choices worked first time without me going into a total "second-guessing" frenzy

    Default A perfect sewing experience

The one thing I would add is "no phone calls - specifically unwanted calls".
