Pfaff Expressions 4.0 - feedback please
I have a friend who is looking at buying this machine. Do any of you have it, what do you think, pros and cons please!
She is thinking this is more machine than she needs right now, but she will grow into it. She wants both embroidery and quilting features.

Ladies: Thanks for the quick replies. My friend corrected me, it is a "Creative 4.0" She has an older Pfaff that she loves, a real workhorse, but she is ready for more bells and whistles.

I have the Pfaff Creative 2.0 and I love it. This is my second Pfaff machine that I have owned. I have been so busy sewing making clothes and quilts and small projects that I haven't had time to set up the embroidery arm yet. There are 154 stitches!!!
This machine has many automatic processes, like the lock stitch at the beginning and end of a seam, the thread cut, press button to change the stitch, stop when the bobbin thread runs out. It even tells you when there is thread caught in the bobbin area. My only tiny frustration with it is the needle threader. It is a little clumsy to use but I am getting the hang of it. It is also a heavy machine so not so easy to take to sewing lessons, sew alongs or quilt guilds.
Hop ethis helps. But if your friend is looking to do a lot of sewing a Pfaff is the way to go.

Would't take anything less than Pfaff. I have the Creative 2.0 but I will sell it because I upgraded to the Creative Vision. The embroidery it does is superb and the features for free motion and applique are great. I know some had issues with Pfaff but I have four counting the serger.

I have been looking at buying a new sewing machine. I had been leaning very heavily towards a Pfaff 4.0 not the one with embroidery. I have done a lot of research and have heard good and bad about Pfaff since the company was sold a few years back. I have to say I sewed on one and loved it! Now, I will tell you what I was told by an LQS owner that stopped being a Pfaff dealer recently. She said the problem was not with how the machines operated, it was with getting parts if you had a problem with your machine. She said it took too long to get parts and in essence that made repair time too long so she finally made the decision to stop being a dealer due to this. This is just one dealers opinion but I wanted to pass this along. BTW she loved the older Pfaff's!
