Thanks Sandi for sharing this website. I'm such a visual nut and was wondering what you gals were talking about on sewing two squares together to get a pinwheel.

Here is one of mine. I've got 4 done so far, and 4 more cut and ready to piece. I just hope I don't run out of the blue!! Also, what can I do about the bulk in the center?

Looks good....I don't think any thing works for everyone,to keep center flat. I'll do what I can but might have to call mine Bumpy Pins...:)

I have done two different block constructions....placement of colours.
Is one the correct way....or does it matter? I'm glad I made sample blocks!

I am interested to see the answer to this. My first reaction was that it's a matter of preference. But then I started to think, someone more creative than I could probably make a design in a design by the placement and color of the pinwheels.

I'm curious about this too. I did mine like you did your red/white one. I have to look back at my others each time to make sure I do the others right.

Usually the darkest/brighest part of the half square triangles are in a certain order. My tip is, make one block that you know is the way you want yours to go & pin it where you can see it. Check before sewing halves together. Easier than having to rip it out.
This might help

Your quilt, your rules!
:-D
For my quilt they need to go all in the same direction.
I'll probably go with the red and white block pattern.
I remember on the Missouri quilt co you tube video she mentioned placing them where they should be before you sew so you don't get mixed up.

Added: that is opposite from the about.com page! Oh, well, my quilt, my rules! :-D
