I do thank you for all your help. I decided to clean up some scrapes but I didn't want to make something big. So I thought "Placemats".I see now I don't have everything I need. But I will solder on. You gave me a lot of choices. Again thank you. FayZ

At Joanns, there's a fusible fleece I typically use. There are 2 kinds, one thinner (similar to interfacing but has a lot more body). The thicker one I use for bags (more like regular batting).
The thinner one works great for placemats because it is thin.

There is a product called "Soft and Stable" that was developed for purses, bags, totes, and home dec items. I haven't used it myself, but watched a tutorial (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhnqAMJAdhE) and it looked like a good product. It's good for quilt as you go as well.
