#7 might work as a sashing? Is the 9 patch going to be large squares or small? That could decide if those larger prints will work....in my eye, unless you want it to be mellow, I think it needs a bit of punch......green, lilac,or peach??? Hard to say without knowing the actual pattern....on point with setting triangles, or straight setting? JMHOJMHO

Thank you all for the help.
Oh, this is a really good idea, I will do it!
Navy color? I think I like it... it can work! Can you see why I needed another eyes? I would have never thought of Navy color for this group in a million years, thank you
That was the idea at first, because all the fabrics are quite matchy-matchy and I wanted to add something different... but I'm not convinced at all with #10. I think I will try another colour.
Great advice, thanks for the reminder.
I'd like to mix the colours quite randomly in the nine patches instead of pairing 2 colors by patch.
Yes, I know... my stash is pretty limited, and I have too many basics (too many dots, gingham and stripes and, if it was not enough, I'm realizing that ALL my fabrics are mediums and lights. I have to learn to choose more variety and dark colours).
It's difficult for me to 'see' the darks. In fact, I thought that #6, #7, #8 and #11 were darks... until I saw the picture in black/whites and realized my mistake.
I'm afraid I don't have any 'wow' fabrics
But fabric #12 is the one that makes me smile! It's my favorite, with the roses and the gingham and the printed lace, all in one... it's just perfect (for me). I don't want to pull her out
I was thinking in white sashing, but it sounds interesting. However, I think I have not enough fabric in color #7 for sashing.
Small, I like quilts with lots of small pieces
Straight setting, I'm a newbie so I will keep it simple and easy...
Tomorrow I will be busy, but on Sunday I will keep with the audition and I will follow your advices. Wish me luck (I'm not good at all with this).
Kind regards.
The easiest way to find "some darks" and even some lights in this case, might be to take small snips of the colors in your fabrics to Lowes or Home Depot and visit the paint department. Use the chip cards to match your colors and then note the colors (plural!) on the cards that are above and below YOUR colors
If you wanted to add darks, look first to dark gray, and then perhaps audition a navy color which I think might also work well with your collection
I actually like #10; I think it keeps the group from being too matchy-matchy
Remember, you are making 9 patch blocks so look at the fabric with what the size of the square of the 9 patch will be.

The others are good together colorwise, but they're too much the same pattern wise. 6 polka dots is a lot.

Actually I'd take #12 out, and add a complex floral.
And there's no "wow" fabric, one that makes you smile.

looks like you've got it under control... : ) your fabrics (with the exception of #10 in this case) are wonderful and once you find the last one or two additions, it's going to be a gorgeous quilt. Keep us posted.

I am not sure about 10. It does seem to stick out as not blending with the other colors. I read in a quilt magazine that every quilt needs a "crazy aunt" fabric (one that sticks out in a crowd) to add interest. Don't rule it out just yet.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I might add a couple more pinks as the aqua outnumbers them. This would be a great baby quilt. If it is for an adult, I think just a few darker ones would add some contrast.
