They were going to discontinue fabric at the Hillsboro one a couple years ago and a whole bunch of us got on the main website for Wal-Mart and protested vigorously via the 'contact us' link, since any other fabric stores are at least 30-45 min away. So far we still have a pretty decent fabric department at our store. If yours is threatening to close I would definitely recommend letting corporate know how you as a customer feel about it.
Great idea. I feel that they do a real disservice to us when they discontinue carrying fabric.

I hope they will think twice about how many people use and want the fabric department. The investors can change things.
It wouldn't hurt for more of you too send emails too.
Thanks so much for the link--I'm definitely going to send a message to them and hopefully if all of us do, MAYBE they'll get a hint of how powerful we can be when we gang together.

We are locing our fabric dept in Ashland City,Tn as we speak. Springfield, Tn lost their fabric dept a couple years ago. A lot of us made phone calls, wrote letters and prayed because we NEED a supplier locally...it just wont be Walmart. Some Walmart employees have lost their jobs for even LISTENING to customers complain about losing the fabric dept!!! I wish some enterprising soul would open a Piece Goods store close by!!! And I hope Walmart loses their shirt!!!

Here's a link to more Wal-Mart contact numbers and addresses:
    http://walmartstores.com/7663.aspx

    and here's their corporate address:
    Corporate Mailing Address
    Walmart Home Office
    702 SW 8th Street
    Bentonville, Arkansas
    72716-8611

And I, too, spend a lot of money there over and above what I spend on fabric.

WHERE in Missouri? Mountain Grove does not have any anymore - most of the stores in Springfield MO have eliminated theirs.
