Default Prague and Budapest

My daughter has gifted me a Rick Steves tour for 8 days. I will be visiting Prague and Budapest. I'm hoping someone here has a suggestion for any textile related must see destinations.

Can't help you out. I have no desire to travel, especially out of the U.S.A.

I love delving out shops when we travel abroad. But you might be wiser to check with the Rick Steeves group before you spend too much time on this. I imagine with his/their tours they have a particular focus.

Google is your best friend for information of this kind.

I've been to Budapest, a wonderful city. Had the best massage ever at Hotel Geliert, probably misspelled. Loved walking the main streets, my grandmother was Hungarian.

You will really enjoy your Rick Steves tour, they keep you pretty busy and you won't have much time for shopping. We travel to Europe quite often and I have found that most of the fabric stores carry the same quilting fabric that we can get here only very much more expensive. The only place I have found local fabric is in the Czech Republic and Holland.

My experience with over seas travel, is it's pretty hard to find textile shops anywhere other than the British Isles and even those are very expensive. I'd do a lot of research before leaving so you don't spend precious time hunting for something that just doesn't exist. The only other country I've found fabric is New Zealand.
