I have two quilts my grandmother made for my first daughter. Grandma loved to do prairie points. One is a pinwheel that has prairie points the other is a four-patch and she put a ruffle on it. Grandma also didn't like square corners so everything was rounded off with a plate or bowl at the corners (no mitering of binding there!!) Grandma is 100 years old now and would still be quilting if arthritis wasn't getting the best of her. She is who inspired me to quilt (she didn't teach me but I just liked what she was able to do and knew I wanted to do it too).
