I believe many of the tutorials I have watched and the TV programs show this method. I should start using it. Thanks.

rarely, as a quilter, do I press seems open, but I always press them flat first, to set the seam.

Same thing with outside edge seams if you are going to turn an item inside out. If you can press the seam one direction or the other, when you do turn it itside out, what becomes the outer edge is fairly crisp and pops out where's its supposed to be.

Thanks for the tip.

I have another one from my quilting friend Caroyl. When you have a pieced block and some of the seams are wavey or a little wrinklely looking, if you lay them on a bath towel and press them, all of that goes away and they look great.
