Pressing tip I learned last weekend

This is probably old news for lots of you, but I learned this from an expert seamstress this weekend and it made a huge difference for me. When pressing seams open, first press flat to set the seam, then flip and press to one side, then open it up and press open. Pressing to one side first makes it much easier to open up. Prior to this I would set seam, then finger press open - then press. That extra step is genius. Hoping I'm not the only one who didn't know this

I have another one from my quilting friend Caroyl. When you have a pieced block and some of the seams are wavey or a little wrinklely looking, if you lay them on a bath towel and press them, all of that goes away and they look great.
