    Interesting. Back in the fifties, I guess the Japanese copied off of us or did we off of them? I will look up the Singer 128.

    I probably did not take the picture correctly. I was trying to get it all in one shot and avoid the hanging light. It is a normal size sewing machine.

    It seems the clones are better built than the Singer machines. I still see a lot of Mamie in your new one. Mamie's metal base is 7" by 11 1/4" with an opening covered with a metal cover to the right of the machine. This pic was taken when she was dirty. M has the Godzilla finish.

    FYI - I have seen the shuttle bobbins at Hancock Fabrics. Surprised me. So they should not be too hard to find.

    don't have a Hancock's--but that's good to know-I may be needing some & thought they'd be hard to come by!

    Shuttle bobbins aren't that hard to find. Ebay has them, and one local vac and sewing machine store has them. About $10 each (I think)

    My Domestic treadle uses the shuttle bobbbin
