1/4 inch foot with guide
 

I have a regular 1/4 inch foot and really have had pretty good luck with my seams. What I was wondering was is a 1/4 foot with a guide going to get that scant 1/4 inch seam any easier? Let me know what you all like.

I love my 1/4 inch foot with guide. I have bought one for all of my machines. It also makes sewing curves easy,too.

I could not for the life of me get used to the 1/4 inch with guide on my baby lock and ended up buying the one without a guide. Not sure if it was because I learned on my little brother machine with no guide or not but I ripped a few seams before I decided to just go buy the other foot.

I love my 1\4 inch guide! Then again Im visually impaired n have hard time otherwise!! :-)

Annie, the 1/4" foot with the guide made it harder for me to get anywhere near a consistent 1/4 inch seam.

Try the one with the guide, though; you may like it.

I have a pfaff and the 1/4" foot with the guide is just the best foot ever! Its a perfect scant 1/4" seam even with curved seams as for the double wedding ring quilt.

I've ordered a 1/4" foot with a guide which will hopefully fit my Juki. The Jukis compensating fot is just not a scant 1/4" and the magnetic seam guide is far from perfect. I'm so hoping the new foot will work because otherwise I will only be able to piece simple blocks on it or I will have to recalculate everything.

Like I wrote earlier today, I made the hole in the foot a bit bigger with a round file and now can move the needle 1 position to the right or left and everything still works well. By moving the needle 1 position to the right I get a scant 1/4".

The one I bought for my Viking was not a SCANT 1/4 in. Unless you want to count the 'scant' in the wrong direction! I took it back. I get a much more consistent seam using the regular foot on my machine and the appropriate needle position.

I rarely use scant, so I like the one with the guide, if I need scant I adjust the needle. Every time I've used scant my block ends up the to big, and you can't always trim down due to points.
