10 Minute Block
1 Attachment(s)
I have these blocks for a quilt top, but I'm not feeling it at all. My daughter likes the colors but it's really busy. Any suggestions? I have 2pks of 5" blocks and fat quarter bundle of the same fabric left over.
But I'd rather hear from you all. Thanks |
Make a quilt for your daughter since she likes the colors. I think it is stunning.

Carry the blue over for the border.

I love your fabrics! I'd tone it down a little with a solid border or two. Great job!

I haven't attached the blocks yet. What about a solid color between the blocks

Love the colors! I would use the Gold color for the border...

In looking at it, you have the gold going different directions. Also you have the blue centered patches side by side. I would use the gold patches in all 4 corners and one in the middle, all going the same direction, then use the blue center patches to fill in. It would be great to use a blue thread on the gold to tone it down, but to enhance it by quilting it like ends of a flower. I would not use sash strips. Of course, this is only a suggestion. I love the colors.
In looking at it again, try putting the gold strips all in a row. That way it would come down the quilt from corner to corner. Then try it with the blue ones from corner to corner. Every time I scroll up to see it, I see something else. Now I see a bowtie from corner to corner with the plainer patches. I would use a small gold border to start with, then add a larger bright flowered one, ending with the blue border. Thanks so much for showing it! |
Lovely colours. The blue in a border would lighten and brighten
