Wow beautiful embroidery. Would love to see it when you are done. My Mom made embroidery blocks with a different flowers. Been trying to figure out how to sash them. Maybe your solution will give me some ideas.

Love those blocks. You will have fun for sure. I am working hard over here in Washington. Getting customers ready for the fairs and shows coming up. Whew, the sweat is dripping, literally, my longarm is in the garage without airconditioning and we have high 80s and low 90s temps.

So do any of you know how to do channel quilting? I have a wreath quilt I am going to finish up here in the next week and want to do special quilting in the empty spots where the blocks connect. I am doing scalloped borders so will mark the outer edge when quilting to get those right and able to cut when done, but as for the small wreaths, not sure how to do.

Quilter Momma--sorry no ideas on the quilting, but those blocks are very pretty. :)

I have never heard the term 'channel quilting'. Is it something to do with a long-arm machine?

I got the top half of the embroidered quilt together today. Thought I would share my progress....

It doesn't look that big in the picture but each square is 9" finished, so it is 81" across.

Thank you on the blocks. My answer is from Lisa Calle, she uses the "channel quilting" to allow the designs to be seperated from each other and the backfill does not mesh together so you can have different fills and still have design pop. It is a close adjacent line that is like an echo. I just watched her dvd so now I know and have a plan. Thinking I am going to put diamonds with a curved cross hatch fill in the little space I have there. It is only 4.5" available to quilty there anyway. Will have to be sure that my flower blocks have a really nice showcase in the center of them. The leaves are way to full so just a backfill for them. still trying to decide on the fabric for the border, do I blend or do I pop? that is the question of the day now. I have top sewn, now to add borders and fun.

Nice progress on those embroidered blocks, love the setting you have chosen.

Well I am as far as I can go on the embroidery quilt...DD is embroidering the center block for me and the muslin I have is too bright, so I need to get some next time I go to town. I have Rows 1-4 and 6-9 together and Row 5 just waiting. This quilt will be sent off to be quilted....the first time I've done this so want to visit a couple ladies and look at their work. Maybe going to the up coming local quilt show would be a good way to see several samples...hmmm.

In the mean time I am working on my 2nd quilt using the Farmer's Wife Pony Club blocks I made last year. Here are half of the blocks. The other blocks won't be on-point and will have 2-1" borders to make them the same size as the on-point blocks.
