I haven't cut myself with the rotary cutter, but I have put the needle through my finger. Does that count? I have run into my hands with the cutter, but I usually have a dull blade so, thus far haven't cut myself.

Ouch...I feel your pain. I'm an "honorary" club member in that years ago I worked in the advertising department of a large tire company, and we did everything the old fashioned way....hot wax mock ups, cut everything with Exacto knives and rulers....see where this is going??? Still sport the scar from slicing my index finger wide open, and dipped my finger tips in the hot wax more than once! So far no rotary cutter accidents, but will have to watch my toes...always barefoot...didn't think about dropping the cutter!

Read if you put pepper on a wound it will stop bleeding. Don't plan on cutting myself to try it either.

I told my kids to never touch my rotary cutter, EVER! So, one day my daughter was sitting right next to my sewing box and I see her bleeding from her finger. I asked her if she touched the rotary cutter and she said: Yes mommy, and I did not cut myself". I asked her to look at her finger, and that's when the crying started. The blade was brand new, and she did not even feel the cut how sharp it was. Luckily, it was neither deep, nor large, so a bandaid helped, but none of my kids ever touched my stuff again. Lesson learned.

'Tis the season apparently. On Sunday I was getting a different sized rotary cutter from the jar thing I keep them in, when I felt a sharp sting on the side of my hand and felt wet. I looked down to find several nicks in my hand and fingers, bleeding profusely......................

Unbelievably, I must have replaced the 60mm cutter without the guard closed - still reeling at my carelessness!

Yep, I do it more often than I care to report. Or I stick myself with a pin deep enough to draw blood. That's why I keep bits and pieces of Warm and Natural on the cutting table and a roll of scotch tape. It's the best band-aides around!

Hehe...I was just telling a friend of mine that every quilt makes me bleed at least once!! (Usually from just minor pin-pokes, fortunately!)

Yep! I am a member too:(. Sliced through my fingernail just a couple of months ago!
No ER visit though......thank goodness all is well now:)

I haven't joined that club....yet! Hope to put off membership for a while.

But reminders to be careful are always good!
