I decided mine was worth the price after cutting and making a tumbler quilt. Pieces were perfect and went together like a dream.

I love mine! I'm making a Grandmothers Flower Garden & the hexagon die fit the need quite nicely. Sure saved me a lot of time cutting out 4,000 hexs! Yes, there's waste, but no more than you would usually have when cutting out shapes.

I love mine. But the dies can get expesive. I have 3 friends who each own one so we tread our dies back and fourth.

I would much rather use Inklingo, You get many more options, accuracy and even a line to sew on. The only drawback is you still have to use your rotary cutter. The price is much cheaper than any of those cutters.

I don't know about the accuquilt, but I have the Alto QuiltCut 2, and I couldn't live without it!

I couldn't do half of the stuff I do without my sister's GO. We both use it all the time and cuts the work required in half if not more AND you can count on every piece being perfect. That's a price worth paying for me. I'm thinking about getting my own and exchanging dies. I say GO for it.

Returned mine. Cuts were not accurate. Material waste was a huge factor along with the cost of the dies.

I don't own one but used the Go and studio cutters. The studio cutter was much easier for me to crank but it's considerably more money. I have no problems cutting out basic shapes with my rotary cutter so I opted for the Bernina Cutwork Software. Now, I can scan any shape into the software and cut as many that will fit in my jumbo embroidery hoop x 10 layers of fabric....and no extra dies to buy.

I have the Go cutter and love it also, especially for the 2 1/2 strips. I,m not the greatest at cutting straight and the
cutter allows me to do this. I don't have all the dies, just the ones that I use the most. I would highly recommend it.

My mom got one for her birthday and uses it for strips and squares. I use it sometimes for strips and squares, but mostly I like it for shapes that are more of a pain to cut out, with curves- like circles and apple cores. I really want to do a clamshell quilt, I don't know if there's a die for that, I'll have to look. Simpler shapes like strips and squares I feel like it's just faster for me to rotary cut than trying to get the fabric folded just right to reduce waste.

I heard from an ower of a quilt shop, they waste fabric.

I have the Accuquilt Go Baby which I use for two things--cutting small triangles and rectangle strips. I could NOT get the dies that cut squares to be accurate. I kept getting the dies that cut squares (2.5x2.5 and 5x5) and after getting two or three of each die, found that none of them cut the fabric accurately. In fact, the triangles and rectangles are not accurate, either, but for what I use them for they are fine. As for me, I disagree with the "Accu" part of the systems name. Nothing I have tried has been accurate for me.

I received the Go for Christmas in 2010. I use it for hard to cut quilt blocks like the tumbler or Drunkards Path. I also have several applique dies. I don't see the need for strip dies because you have to cut a strip to put on the cutter.

so many things to reply to...I have a GO, have had for about 1 1/2 yrs and have collected a good amount of dies, and have used the ones I have and am well pleased with the outcome. I would recommend the machine without hesitation. The dies can be found on sale at several sites-along with s&h, which sometimes can cancel the sale price, if all else fails, JoAnn has 25% off most of the time. I belong to a yahoo group whose moderator is also a dealer with what I consider great prices, so she is my source. The cost of the dies is usually a "one time cost" unlike rotary blades, rulers, templates, mats. The material that is "wasted" is really miniscule and I really don't mind that, if I know my cuts are accurate...worth the trade off to me---one can safe those slivers and make animal shelter pillows or I have seen people who sew over a bunch with decorative emb designs for embelishment....so like in every other craft, hobby all can be re-purposed. As far as Sizzix being better, I don't know that, as I don't have one, but I understand that they are breaking their connection with Westminster Fabric and will redo the machine and up the price in the near future.
I recently saw the alto at demo and was doubly glad I decided on GO instead, as Alto was something I was considering at the time.
As far as not needing because only use strips.........believe me it is faster to GO strips than lining up and rotary and guess what - no little dip or slip of ruler!!!!! These are just my thoughts and reasons for my purchase, but like everything else, not everything is for everybody, but I am positive about my purchase.

I have had mine for about a year and a half and I use it quite a bit, I like the accuracy and the speed of it. cut a double wedding ring for DD getting married in August and it turned out beautifully.

I just won the Go at a quilt show. Where is the most reasonable place to buy dies?

I also have the studio and wouldn't give it up for anything. You have to want to cut this way for it to be beneficial to you. I have RA and the studio has saved me so much time and grief. For me, it's a wonderful invention.

I don't understand all the posts that keep saying 'the dies are expensive'. Are they suppose to be cheap? I don't want to buy dies that are made cheap. The Accuquilt isn't for everyone but I'm so glad it is for me.

I have the Go! Loooooove it! If you are as bad as I am about cutting accurately with a rotary cutter it's worth every penny. If you start out getting a variety of strip cutting dies and cut squares from them. Or you could let your family know which dies you would like and they won't have to wonder what to get you for birthdays, christmas, etc.. Look around, you can always get a bargin price somewhere.

Thank u for all the suggestions, i keep thinking about getting the accquilt Go, but i also checked out the Altocut2, and trying to find out what the differance is. I am going to the Paducah Quilt show in April, so i will look there also and check them out together, after all this, i probably still won't get either one. I mainly want it for squares and strips, I would like to make a log cabin and a trip around the world. So I thought either one of these would be great. I love mine as it makes cutting more accurate. I have bought most of the stip cutters and then can cut various squares, rectangles, etc from them. Since I am not the most accurate cutter the Accuquilt is marvelous to me.

I love my Studio! Super fast, accurate cutting! Yes it can be expensive so I watch for the sales and only buy what I want/need when I have a discount code, it's on sale or it's on "Daily Deal".

I have the Alto. It's a very well made quality item. I don't use it that much since I got the Go for cutting block pieces but it's fantastic for cutting bias strips. If you purchase it at the quilt show be sure and make it your last purchase. Believe me on this! It's way to heavy to tote around the show and almost too much to carry to your car or hotel room from the show. The Alto vendor has always been in the main quilt show usually on the second floor. I suggest buying it and having it shipped to your home if you will have to carry it any distance.

I heard the Sizzix Big Pro is the way to go as it can use multiple dies.

So much to think about here. I wish there was a "try before you buy" option somewhere!

Check with your local quilt shops many have them, or if there is a guild near you there is sure to be a member who has one who hopefully will let you try it. I'd invite you over, but it's a bit of a drive!

I like mine mostly for strips I have a bad shoulder so I like the nice clean cut I get with mine it makes the piecing much neater and easier. It is not a must have but I am satisfied with mine.

I have the AccuQuilt Studio, which I share with my daughter. Couldn't quilt without it. I can cut 10 layers of fabric with one die, and since I have shoulder problems, it is a real pleasure to use. It has more than paid for itself.

Our quilt quild bought one which we can use for a minimal price and when it is availablee. I have not tried it yet.

I second that thought! Maybe you gals who don't like yours should try to sell them on the board. I'm sure there'd be a bit of interest. I know I would seriously consider buying a "gently" used one! Just a thought.... :)

I feel the same way. I like the accuracy!! The free geometric patterns are everywhere and I love it.!! Might get into the appliqués soon !
